I'm Thinking about Switching Religions

What If God Won't Answer My Prayers?

I sympathize with you, God hasn't answered a lot of my prayers and I don't really know what the reason is behind this. I have heard so many people tell me that all I need to do is pray and my prayers will be answered. I have been praying for many years and things just don't seem to be working out that good.

So why won't God answer my prayers? I'm a nice person, do everything that my religion tells me to do and yet I'm not making any progress and I am starting to become irritated. I'd even been thinking about switching to another religion, one that promises that they can actually deliver what I'm asking for.

Here's an example of something that I have prayed for in the past and have never received and I'm sure that most people have done something similar to this. I simply prayed to, “Have more money and happiness.” A simple little prayer, but I'm not receiving any more money and don't seem to be any happier than I was two years ago.

Here's what I'm going to suggest and it might sound a little harsh, but if your religion is promising you that you will have a better life or other things, and all that is required for you to do, is simply to believe in your religious text or even your god or gods, I would start thinking about alternative religions.

Put them to the test and if they can't provide positive results, I would start shopping for a new religion. If your god isn't going to answer your prayers, what would it hurt to actually try out a couple of different religions?

I even got a better idea, why don't you go down to your library and gather some more information about all the religions around the world and then pick one. It would be like a buffet with all the religions in the world on the table, and you get to pick the best one.
